Only One Reason To Feel Crabby Here

Playa Uvita, located within Ballena National Marine Park, is one of our favorite beaches on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. Uvita is good for surfing and swimming and accessible year round, this is a popular beach with travelers and locals alike.

As you can see from the image above, it’s an absolutely stunning piece of paradise. The light-colored sand, wide beach, clear waters, and emerald-green hillsides provide all the elements of a postcard-perfect outing. Beachcombers will love the long, uninterrupted beach, and social creatures will dig the small-town atmosphere. Almost as a bonus, humpback whales migrate here between December and April.

So who could possibly be crabby in this environment?

Just this guy.

Sorry about that.

Playa Uvita is located 16 kilometers south of Dominical in Costa Rica’s Southern Zone. There is a wide range of lodging options nearby, ranging from free camping and small cabinas all the way up to boutique resorts.
